Carved from Pernambuco (from Brazil) about 3" tall to be used for a walking stick/cane top. This a very dense and hard wood.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. How long did you work on that?
Does it have a texture or it only seems to have due the picture?
If it does how did you managed it?
I would appreciate very much your answers and further comments.
As far as length of time I'm unsure but it wasn't quick definately over 10 hours, it is super hard wood.
And no there is no texture I think what you are seeing is the face is actually the end grain.
This may have been the hardest wood that I have carved it was more difficult due to it beeing end grain.
